About John L. Turley

John L. Turley, age 56, married, with two children, lives on Lyons Bend Road, a resident of Knoxville since 1974. He has been engaged in the real estate business for 28 years. He has built, owned, or been a partner in operating 22 Applebee’s Restaurants in Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. In connection with the Applebee’s investment, Turley evaluated markets, located sites, purchased sites, designed, engineered, and permitted Applebee’s Restaurants. In addition Turley hired and supervised contractors during the construction of Applebee’s Restaurants. Also, in partnership with others, he operated the units for several years before selling them to a public company in a merger/acquisition.

He is a partner and in charge of leasing for North Park Place, a multi tenant warehouse park in Alcoa containing 650,000 square feet in 19 different buildings. This complex is currently 95% occupied. In addition, Turley has successfully built, developed, and currently owns a substantial portfolio of smaller real estate investment properties in and around East Tennessee. This portfolio is over 98% leased and contains retail areas, small commercial buildings, warehouses, ground leases and build to suit buildings.

Turley is Chief Manger of Turkey Creek Land Partners which owns and is developing for sale or lease the 400 acre commercial park along I40-75 comprising the remaining available land between the two prominent interstate exchanges of Lovell Road and Campbell Station Road. Over 300 acres of this park have been sold or developed and Wal-Mart Super Center, Super Target, Goody’s, Old Navy as well as Baptist Hospital are located there. The Colonial Pinnacle at Turkey Creek, a 500,000 square foot lifestyle center, The Colonial Promenade at Turkey Creek and Gander Mountain are also located at Turkey Creek. Over 1,700,000 square feet of retail space currently operates in Turkey Creek.
